Joyce Hansen is a member of the Cherokee tribe. Joyce graduated from Bacone College and Tulsa University. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and was employed as a Nurse Educator for a longstanding American Diabetes Association (ADA) recognized Diabetes Education Program. She has worked her entire nursing career of 30 years with the American Indians through Indian Health Service and Cherokee Nation. She not only worked but also did volunteer work which included: NE Oklahoma Diabetes Educators (NODE), AADE: Local Networking Group (LNG) 2010-Current, Indian Falls Creek-Health Director until 2009, coordinator of annual Blood Drive & Bone Marrow drive, Cherokee Youth & Elder camps, plus Cherokee Baptist Associational family camp nurse.
Joyce is the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren. She is married to Pastor Woody Hansen and they currently serve at Claremore Emmanuel Church. Both of them are valued members of the Circle of Nations Conference team. Woody is the Men's Conference Leader. They will be teaching together at this year's conference. Joyce will also be presenting her testimony on Saturday afternoon.
